Coneflowers

As August slowly marches toward September many of the perennial flowers are done blooming for the year. One exception to this is the cone-flowers.These reliable plants start to bloom in July and are in peak condition in August. The "traditional" cone-flower is purple but there are many new colors and forms available now.

This bright one is named "Tomato Soup". Unfortunately, the tags for the two yellow varieties have disappeared.

Whoa, those are so cool! I just have the regular 'ol pinky colored ones.

In regards to your comment on my shams, sewing "talent" does not exist in this house. I literally didn't even use a tape measure. When making ANYthing, I lay it out, cut based on the visual, close my eyes, say a little prayer, and push the pedal. If I'm lucky, it turns out good enough to use. lol
