First 100 Degree Day & Blackberries

As expected today was a scorcher. The temperature topped out at 101 degrees. After so much cool weather this Summer, it really felt extra hot outside. Both the plants and the people were wilting a bit in all of that warmth. After the sun was behind the hills in the evening, I did a walk around the property to pick the year's first batch of blackberries. I honestly didn't think that I would find very many, but ended up with a nice little container full that weighed in at 11.4 oz. Ripe blackberries and a heatwave - Summer has finally arrived!
