I think that I can safely say that the record Summer dry spell is officially over for good! While we received our first significant rain in over three months on Friday, the last two days have really closed the door on Summer. Yesterday over one-half inch of rain fell and today we received over two inches! The rain-gauge was full and overflowing. While it caused some damage to our gravel road and to the blooms in my dahlia garden, it is comforting to know that the threat of a forest fire is over for the year.
